Quick Edit is a feature in the WordPress dashboard that lets you make small changes to a post or page — like the title, status, or categories — directly from the list view, without opening the full editor.
You’ll find it by hovering over a post in your Posts or Pages list, where a row of links, including “Quick Edit,” appears beneath the title.
What You Can Change
- Title and slug.
- Publish date and status.
- Categories and tags.
- Whether comments are allowed.
When It’s Useful
Quick Edit shines when you need to update several posts in a row — fixing a category across multiple articles, for instance — without the overhead of opening and closing the full editor each time.
For actual content changes, you’ll still need the full editor, since Quick Edit doesn’t let you touch the body content itself.
