A user is any account registered on your WordPress site, whether that’s you as the site owner, a fellow writer, or a customer who created an account to leave comments or make a purchase.
Every user is assigned a role, which determines exactly what they’re allowed to do — write posts, manage settings, or simply comment, depending on the level of access granted.
Managing Users
From the Users section of your dashboard, you can add new accounts, edit existing ones, assign roles, and remove users who no longer need access. Each user has their own profile with a display name, email, and optional bio.
A Security Tip
Regularly reviewing your list of users is a good habit, especially on sites with multiple contributors. Removing accounts that are no longer active, and making sure roles match what each person actually needs, helps keep your site secure over time.
